S. O. R. E.

Wow...I *hurt.*

I've been to the gym three times this week and also went on a short run tonight because the gym apparently closes at 9 pm on Fridays, so getting there at 8:45 didn't do too much for me. The past two times I've done cardio and then arm stuff, but tonight I only had time for the arm stuff so made up for it with a (slow and painful) run through my neighborhood. I'm thinking maybe two nights in a row isn't the best schedule for gym time because good lord, I am in pain.

Tonight: "pulldown" machine - 30 reps @ 40 lbs, 3 x 15 reps @ 50 lbs, 30 reps @ 40 lbs. Then the arm curl one because I noticed I was mainly sore along the backs of my arms and figured if I'm really going to be getting stronger, I'd better make sure ALL my arm muscles get used. So I kept doing sets of 15 reps, only at 20 lbs because apparently I'm a weakling, bicep-wise. No idea how many sets, just did them till the gym closed. Then a 1.25-mile run through my neighborhood at a horrifically slow pace because (1) my 12-year-old came along and is kinda new to running so he couldn't go any faster and it'd be rude to ditch him, and (2) my ACHING ACHING legs were pretty glad my 12-year-old was along.

But that's three workouts this week and I can already tell I'm doing something because I could barely lift my arms above my head today, and that was just from last night. I expect tomorrow I won't be able to move them at all, and will entertain my kids by being forced to walk around all stiff-armed like a robot.

I will be ready for that Spartan Sprint, though!
