Officially training!

My first-ever Spartan Sprint is in three weeks. The once-per-week-except-that-one-week-I-didn't-go-at-all running regimen Endomondo indicates I've adhered to during the past month isn't quite the kind of thing that's going to prepare me for an event like this, so I decided this week I'd better step it up again. And I am happy to report that I *did!*

Tuesday: 4 miles of off-and-on again running along the beach. I will admit I walked a bit of the return two miles, but I think the blasts of wind hitting me the whole way back evened things out.

Thursday: 2-mile loop through my neighborhood, stopping to do 10 pushups each half mile. This was an inadequate attempt at imitating the obstacles I'll stop to do during the run, but it was a start at least.

Tonight: 3.5+ miles through my neighborhood to the elementary school and back. Happy that my pace during the second mile, which was all uphill, wasn't any different from the other miles (once you subtract the half minute or so I waited at a stoplight). I'm getting better with pacing :)

So that is 9+ miles for the week and I call that a WIN. Next week I'd better add in some upper-body stuff because I have also fallen off the pushup wagon (again), but for tonight I am going to bask in my accomplishment of sticking to it in the running department this week!
