When you feel overwhelmed with all the things you need to do and tired because you aren't sleeping enough and irritated with your kids and like you've lost your motivation to get anything productive done and you just want to go to bed and sleep until it's a better day...
...THAT is precisely the time to go running. Because afterwards you might be tired and sweaty and not so inclined to do anything for awhile but sit and drink some Gatorade and have some trail mix and recover--but you will feel better again.
That mood boost was EXACTLY what I needed. And I even did pushups this morning, too! (Another lesson there, DO YOUR PUSHUPS REGULARLY because if you don't it's going to SUCK trying to do them when you've had a week and a half off, but that's another post.)
Yay!
